Today, the first public session of the Tender Committee for conducting the procurement for the selection of the General Contractor for Lot 3 in the frameworks of the “Caucasus Transmission Network” Project was held at the premises of “High Voltage Electric Networks” company. Under Lot 3 of the “Armenia-Georgia Transmission Line/Substations” project, financed by the KfW Development Bank, it is planned to construct a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Converter Station in Ayrum.
For the purpose of carrying out these works, only one Bidder out of the seven ones, pre-selected for the tender of General Contractor selection, has submitted the Tender package before the deadline.
In accordance with the procedure, the Tender Committee opened only the Bidder’s technical proposal and checked the completeness of the documentation. The Bidder’s financial proposal will be opened after the evaluation of the technical proposal. The Contract with the General Contractor will be signed after a detailed review and approval of both the technical and financial proposals.
The Chairman of the Tender Committee, Acting General Director of “High Voltage Electric Networks” CJSC, Hayk Hayrapetyan, expressed his gratitude to the Bidder for participating in the tender and for submitting a bid.
It was decided to establish a working group for reviewing the Bidder’s technical proposal and presenting the results to the Tender Committee.
As a result of the implementation of the “Caucasus Transmission Network” Project, through the construction of a new transmission line, an HVDC Back-to-Back Converter Station, and Substations, the quality of cross-border power flow services will be significantly improved, and the development of regional cooperation in the energy sector will be promoted.
